According to Martin Rejzek et al. [✧] Phytoecia (Pygoptosia) eugeniae develops in Centaurea behen (Asteraceae).

The depicted mounted beetles were collected by David Navrátil on Centaurea behen in Saqqez (سقز) environs (1484 m a.s.l., Zagros Mts., Saqqez county, Ostān-e Kordestān province, NW Iran) on May 27, 2017. The living specimen was photographed by our friend Karel Hodek in Iran.
