Phytoecia (Parobereina) vittipennis leuthneri was described as Phytoecia (Obereina) vittipennis var. leuthneri by Ludwig Ganglbauer from Akbès (Alep governorate, Syria) in 1886 [❖]. Phytoecia vittipennis was moved into a newly estabilished subgenus Parobereina by Mikhail Danilevsky in 2018 [✩].
