Callergates gaillardoti (Chevrolat, 1854) occurs in Dodecanese islands of Greece, Cyprus, Turkey, Syria and Lebanon. The species develops in Pinus spp. and it is often accompanied by its close relative Ergates faber (Linnaeus, 1767).

The living beetles were reared from larva feeding in dead pine trunk found in Epta Piges env. (Rhodes Island, Greece) on May 20, 2012. The mounted beetles were reared from pupae found in pine trunk in Kolympia environs (Rhodes Island, Greece) in August 2020. Specimens in low-res (lower) photos were reared from larvae collected in Kassab N Latakia (NW Syria) in a dead decaying trunk of Pinus halepensis.Collected by Adam Woźniak, David Navrátil and V.Čelikovský
