Brachyta borni is a very rare species endemic to France, namely to the French Alps (Col de Vars, Alpes-de-Haute-Provence), where it inhabits the alpine zone. Its biology has been discovered and reported on by Hervé Brustel et al. [❖]. According to this work Brachyta borni is associated with alpine cinquefoil (Potentilla crantzii). The larva feeds in the roots of this plant.

Depicted beetles were collected in Col de Vars (Saint-Paul-sur-Ubaye, Alpes-de-Haute-Provence department, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, France) on June 23, 2005.
