Pedostrangalia imberbis has been described by Edouard Ménétriés from Talysh mountains (Azerbaijan) in 1832 [❖]. The biology of this species is identical to Pedostrangalia revestita (Linnaeus, 1767). The larval substrate comprises dead, moisture rich dark red wood in contact with living tissue of deciduous trees.

The beetle in the picture was collected in Zānūs (زانوس) environs (1730 m a.s.l., Kojur District, Nowshahr County, Māzandarān province, North Iran) on May 21, 2019.
