Deroplia gertiana, a nocturnal species endemic to Tenerife (Canary Islands), has been described by Gianfranco Sama in 1996 [❖]. The species is polyphagous on herbaceous plants, shrubs and also deciduous trees (Ficus carica).

Body length:	7 - 12 mm
Life cycle:	1 - 2 years
Adults in:	December - May
Host plant:	polyphagous on herbaceous plants, decidous trees and shrubs
Distribution:	a species endemic to Canary Islands

The depicted beetle was collected in Tamaimo NE Puerto de Santiago (800 m a.s.l., El Retamar, Tenerife, Canary Islands) on January 5, 2017.
