Dorcadion (Iberodorcadion) demandense, a rare species with only relatively small area of occurence in North Spain (Sierra de Mencilla, Burgos province), was described by Martínez de la Escalera in 1902 [❖]. This taxon was later considered only a subspecies of Dorcadion (Iberodorcadion) albicans, but eventually it was reelevated into species rank by Tomé in 2013 [✧].

The depicted beetles were collected by I. Sarabia in Villamiel de la Sierra environs (Burgos province, Spain) on April 18, 2014.
