Dorcadion politum shapovalovi was described by Mikhail Danilevsky from Orenburg region (South Ural Mts., Russia) in 2006 [❖]. This biggest subspecies of Dorcadion politum is distributed from the south of Orenburg Region (but does not penetrate northwards Ural River) south-eastwards to Aral Sea in Kazakhstan [✧].
