Phytoecia (Helladia) fatima has been described from "Persia" by Ludwig Ganglbauer in 1884 [❖]. Later this taxon was only considered a subspecies of Phytoecia (Helladia) pretiosa Faldermann, 1837, now it is again a separate species. But the discussions about the taxonomic relationship between P. pretiosa and P. fatima are far from over...

Life cycle:	1 year
Adults in:	May - June
Host plant:	Onopordum carduchorum (Asteraceae)
Distribution:	Armenia, Azerbaijan, Iran, Iraq, Syria, Turkey

The depicted beetles were collected in Hop Gecidi (SE Turkey).
