Body length: 12 - 19 mm Life cycle: 3 and more years Adults in: June - August Host plant: polyphagous in deciduous trees (Fagus, Quercus, Aesculus etc.) Distribution: Central and SE Europe, Asia Minor, Caucasus and Iran
The depicted living beetle was found in hollow in the living beech (Fagus sylvestris) in Křivoklátsko Protected Landscape Area (Central Bohemia, Czechia). The mounted specimens were captured on wing, flying around very old and partially dead horse-chestnut (Aesculus hippocastanum) in Valtice (South Moravia, Czech Republic).Collected by Miroslav Polcar and M.Hoskovec
