Ondrejov NEO Photometric Program

Click for news. (Now updated frequently!)

New page on binary NEAs has been added.

This composite lightcurve of 2001 OE84, a large superfast rotating monolithic Amor asteroid is an example of data resulted from the Near-Earth Object Photometric Program conducted at the Ondrejov Observatory .

Main tasks of the NEO project are:

  • Photometry of NEOs, primarily for rotation and shape studies, identification of binaries.
  • Astrometry of NEOs. Primarily aimed on newly discovered objects from the NEOCP.

People involved: Petr Pravec, Marek Wolf, Lenka Sarounova, Peter Kusnirak, and Mirek Velen.

See more details on the project.

Our project has been supported by the Space Frontier Foundation within The Watch program in 1999.

  Some older images.

The NEOCooP has been started to coordinate follow up effort on NEOCP objects. If you are interested to join us (have a full access to the NEOCooP), write us.

2001 OE84 - composite lightcurve

List of observed near-Earth asteroids:

The following NEAs have been photometrized from Ondrejov. The (p) or (l) symbol means that a period or a constraint on it, respectively, has been derived (or confirmed) for a particular object using our data. If you are interested in a particular object, please contact Petr Pravec.

A table with unpublished periods and amplitudes derived using our NEA observations is available. The list is considered as a "pre-publication" of our results so that they could be added to the list of Lightcurve Parameters compiled by Alan Harris. We recommend to contact us if you are interested in a particular object.
