Research assistant position in computational psychometrics and statistics

Computational psychometrics group (www.cs.cas.cz/comps) at Department of Statistical Modelling, Institute of Computer Science of the Czech Academy of Sciences invites applications for research assistant position within the project “Theoretical Foundations of Computational Psychometrics” funded by the Czech Science Foundation (GACR) for period 2021 – 2023. The project involves developing, optimizing and implementing techniques for analysis of multi-item measurements in psychology, education, health, hiring, and other fields.

What we offer:

  • Initial contract till the end of year, with possible extension based on project progress.
  • Positions are available immediately with starting date upon agreement.

  • The computational psychometrics group is active and well connected both locally and internationally in statistics and psychometrics. For example, in 2019 we hosted the International Workshop on Psychometric Computing (Psychoco).

Expected candidate profile:

  • Strong statistical / data / programming skills with practical programming experience in R.
  • BSc/MSc in mathematics, computer science, data science or a related discipline, priority is given to students who took course(s) on computational aspects of psychometrics and/or to prospective PhD students.
  • Interest in interdisciplinary research.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Curious, self-motivated, hard-working, team-spirited researcher.
