Post-doc position in relaxor antiferroelectric perovskites explored by multi-empirical approach

We are looking for a young researcher with experience in synthesis and characterization of ferroelectric materials to become a part of a Czech -Slovenian bilateral project to develop and study new relaxor antiferroelectric materials.

We will combine structural and spectroscopic methods for property optimization of antiferroelectric materials towards successful material engineering and development of a multilayer antiferroelectric capacitor.  We will use targeted ionic substitution to control ferroelectric-antiferroelectric coexistence in our synthesized samples and then study of the dielectric response and Raman spectra by various experimental techniques and calculations for manufacturing feedback.

We require

  • Background in Physics or Materials Science, Master’s degree or equivalent
  • Experience on synthesis of ferroelectric materials (ceramics or thin films)
  • Experience on basic characterization methods: IR spectroscopy, x-ray diffraction, microscopy, electric or magnetic measurements
  • Basic programming skills (Python or C) (Origin LabTalk is welcome)
  • Fluency in English (active level B2 required), Spanish is more than welcome, other european languages too.
  • Publication record with at least 5 publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals
  • Experience in scientific communication (at least 2 oral presentations in international conferences/workshops), experience in popularization is a bonus
  • Ability to work in a team
