Tenth Liblice Conference
on the Statistical Mechanics of Liquids
The Venue
Sumava National Park is a national park in the South Bohemian region of
the Czech Republic, located along the border with Germany and Austria
and adjacent to the nearby Bavarian Forest National Park. These parks
protect a sparsely inhabited area of the Sumava mountain range, and
since 1990 have been a protected biosphere reserve of UNESCO. Few
places in Central Europe offer such a scenic landscape as the Sumava
National Park. The deep forests on the Czech-German border form the
largest forested area in Europe. A combination of centuries-old
primeval forests, crystal-clear glacial lakes, and mysterious peat bogs
creates a uniquely poetic place for an activity-oriented holiday year
round.
The Srní hotel is situated amidst the beautiful Sumava countryside,
surrounded by fresh air, lakes and lush green forests. In addition to
conference facilities, it features a variety of sport facilities,
including a large arena with tennis/basketball and floorball courts, and
a climbing wall, heated swimming pool, sauna, and fitness centre.
Guests can also rent mountain bikes to explore the scenic area on the
many designated routes.
