Second Announcement – Updated version

Dear colleagues,
thank you for your interest in the EVEQ 2004 Summer School. Here is some updated information.


Place:

The Sixth International Summer School  EVEQ 2004 will be held at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics of the Charles University (see maps below ),

Accommodation:

The participants will be accommodated at the Student's Residence of the Charles University (see maps below )

located near the Faculty building (the same place as for the three previous EVEQ's) in units of two double bedrooms sharing the bathroom. As stated in the First Announcement, single room accommodation can be arranged at an additional supplement of 15 EUR per day. For other kind of accommodation please contact your travel agency. Experience shows that foreign travel agencies have better access to an affordable accommodation in Prague thanks to a long-term contract policy.

Check in time in the residence is 12 a.m., check out time is 10 a.m. 


Organization:

All participants are recommended to arrive on Sunday, July 11. The Conference Office and Registration desk will be located in the entrance of the Student's Residence (the highest building) and will work on Sunday, July 11 from 12:00 till 23:00

From Monday, July 12, the Conference Office will work at the building of the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics – see campus map

Registration:
Both registered and non-registered participants are asked to kindly fill-in the following
more detailed registration form.


Programme:

The following programme has been confirmed by the main speakers. Possible changes will be specified whenever necessary. Participants have the possibility to make a short (~5 minutes) oral presentation of their posters.

An informal cheese and wine welcome party is planned on Monday, June 12, in the Faculty Building.
Conference dinner will take place on Thursday, July 15. 

Only breakfast and lunch from Monday till Friday are organised at the conference location, as we suppose that most of you will wish to enjoy the tourist aspects of the city after the afternoon sessions. We will keep you informed about interesting social events in Prague during  the conference week. Wednesday afternoon is left free for sightseeing.

From July 1st, 2004, there are some important changes in public transports network in Prague. The Metro Line C has been extended,so that "Nadrazi Holesovice" is no longer the terminal. Participants are advised to switch at  "Nadrazi Holesovice"  to one of the busses (see map)

- 102 (direction Stare Bohnice - Zamky)  - station "Kuchynka" across the bridge
- 210 (direction Cakovice) - station "Kuchynka"
- 112 (direction ZOO) - station "Pelc-Tyrolka"

Tickets can be bought at (almost) any newspaper shop or at ticket machines at (almost) each bus/tram stop and metro station. One ticket costs 12 Kc and has to be stamped in the vehicle. It remains valid for one hour independently of the number of transfers between the bus/metro/tram.
