J. Heyrovsky Institute of Physical Chemistry of the AS CR, v.v.i., offers new positions (interview - March 23, 2009):
• a 2-years postdoctoral position in the molecular cluster group of the Department of Photochemistry, Spectroscopy and Ion Chemistry
Requirements: Degree in physics or physical chemistry.
The project will be include (i) building of new experimental apparatus for ion imaging, and (ii) photodissociation studies in molecular clusters on an existing molecular beam apparatus. Previous experience with preferentially more than one of the following experimental techniques is desirable: vacuum, charged particle and laser techniques, molecular beams, ion imaging. Position is suitable for an advanced and highly motivated postdoc. More information about the activities of the group see web pages.
The position will be financed by the Marie Curie Intra European Fellowship No. 235414.
• a 15 month postdoctoral position in the molecular spectroscopy group of the Department of Photochemistry, Spectroscopy and Ion Chemistry
Requirements: Degree in physics or mathematics.
Project is focused on a theoretical analyze of the highly excited atoms and molecules. Previous experience with Quantum defect theory is necessary. Position is suitable for an advanced and highly motivated postdoc for a period of 15 month.

• a 2-years postdoctoral position in the Department of Structure and Dynamic in Catalysis
Requirements: PhD in chemistry (defended before the end of the year 2009), material science or related field. Strong background in catalysis, experience in surface characterization of catalytic materials.
The successful candidate should be capable of independent scientific work in the field of catalysis over microporous-mesoporous materials.
The position will be exclusively financed by the European project. It should commence during the first half of the year 2009. The position is offered for two years with possible extension for up to 4 years.
