The course is intended for beginners to
mid-advanced users of transmission electron microscopes in biomedicine.
It will devote about equal time to the theory and to practical use of
microscopes. The participants should understand after the course the
principles of TEM construction and function, should be able to align
the microscope for optimal performance, to identify and eliminate most
common aberrations and alignment artefacts, to understand the
principles of image formation in TEM, and the optimal ways of image
acquisition. The participants will be also given an updated information
about best ways of sample preparation for TEM, and recent TEM trends in
biomedicine. The course will be in English. |
