Since 2000 he systematically engages in development and application of new solid-state NMR techniques intended for the detail characterization of macromolecular systems. His research interest is focused to multidimensional NMR techniques of separation of local fields. He dealt with the development of experimental procedures for the description of size of domains in heterogeneous systems like polymer blends and networks (Brus et al., Macromolecules 2000, 33, 6448; Brus et al., Macromolecules 2002, 35, 1253; Brus et al., Macromolecules 2002, 35, 10038). Subsequently he focused his interest to precise measurements of internuclear distances to determine local geometry in partially ordered systems like self-assembled nanocomposites (Brus et al., Macromolecules 2004, 37, 1346). Currently he deals with modifications of these techniques to describe internal dynamics of polymer segments in semicrystalline nanocomposites in order to find relations between segmental dynamics and mechanical properties (Brus et al., J. Phys. Chem. A 2005, 109, 5050). In addition his work is focused on generalization of 2D and 3D SLF NMR experiments to determine full three-dimensional structure of microcrystalline systems and to develop NMR crystallography (Brus et al., J. Phys.Chem. A 2004,108, 3955). He is author and co-author of 65 original scientific papers in international journals and about 92 conference contributions. In 2002 awarded a Prize of Josef Hlavka.
