RNDr. Zdeněk HAVLAS, DrSc.

He has directed the Institute since 2002. He graduated from the Faculty of Sciences of Charles University in physical chemistry. He was as post-doctoral fellow at Cornel University in Ithaca, New York, USA, and a Alexander von Humboldt fellow at the Goethe University in Frankfurt, Germany. Dr. Havlas currently collaborates with American researchers at the University of Colorado in Boulder. He has published four books, over 150 scientific papers, has more than 2500 citations in scientific journals. Zdeněk Havlas directs the Institute, lectures, publishes, and conducts research in computational chemistry.
