Experience
  • Expertise in mass spectrometry (experience with many multipole mass spectrometers (MS), ion cyclotron resonance MS, ion trap MS, sector MS, selected ion flow tube MS and with crossed-beam experiments).
  • International research campaigns at the multiuser facility CLIO (Centre Laser Infrarouge d'Orsay, FR) and synchrotrons SOLEIL (Paris, FR), Super-ACO (Paris, FR) and ELETTRA (Trieste, IT); leadership of missions to these facilities.
  • Expertise in quantum chemistry (ab-initio calculations, density functional theory calculations).
  • Grant reviewing and Peer reviewing for journals (Chemistry - A European Journal, Journal of the American Chemical Society, Journal of Organic Chemistry, Journal of Mass Spectrometry, and ChemPhysChem).

Research interest
  • Reaction mechanisms (investigation of mechanisms of organic and organometallic reactions by means of mass spectrometry and theoretical computations, the research spans from kinetic studies to the construction of potential energy-surfaces for a given reaction system).
  • Fundamental properties of molecules (experimental and theoretical investigation of basic thermodynamic properties of molecules such as ionization energies, proton affinities, or bonding energies; studies of complexation abilities of molecules and their redox properties).
  • Chemistry of superelectrophiles (investigation of intrinsic properties and reactivities of dications in order to find a novel modes in chemical reactivity, e.g. possibility of growth of PAHs in extreme environments, or formation of new rare-gas compounds).
  • Solvent effects (structure and reactivity of microsolvated the gaseous ions).
