Institute of Mathematics of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic

Graduate teaching

In graduate teaching the Institute cooperates predominantly with the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics and the Pedagogical Faculty of the Charles University in Prague, with the Faculty of Science of the Palacky University in Olomouc, with the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen, and with the Mathematical Institute of the Silesian University in Opava; the branch of the Institute in Brno with the Faculty of Science of the Masaryk University in Brno. Members of the Institute are advisors to 53 graduate students and a number of  members of the Institute work in some branch committee for graduate study. Graduate students take part in seminars organized by the Institute or in cooperation with universities and attend lectures held by the members of the Institute at universities.

In cooperation with the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics of the Charles University in Prague, the Institute provides graduate education in the following programs:

  • Mathematics
    1. Algebra, number theory and mathematical logic
    2.  Geometry and topology, global analysis and general structures
    3. Mathematical analysis
    4. Probability and mathematical statistics
    5. Scientific computing
    6. General questions of mathematics and computer science
  • Computer science
    1. Theoretical computer science
    2. Software systems
    3. Mathematical linguistics
    4. Discrete models and algorithms
  • Physics
    1. Theoretical physics, astronomy and astrophysics
    2. Mathematical and computer modelling

In cooperation with the Pedagogical Faculty of the Charles University in Prague, the Institute provides graduate education in the following program:

  1. Didactics of Mathematics

In cooperation with the Faculty of Science of the Masaryk University in Brno, the Institute provides graduate education in the following programs:

  1. Algebra, number theory and mathematical logic

  3. Mathematical analysis
  4. General questions of mathematics
  5. Probability and mathematical statistics

In cooperation with the Faculty of Science of the Palacky University in Olomouc, the Institute provides graduate education in the following programs:

In cooperation with the Faculty of Applied Sciences of the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen, the Institute provides graduate education in the following program:
