was born on May 6th, 1938. In 1962 he graduated from the VŠB-Technical University of Ostrava, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in the field of design; specialization being Metallurgical Forming Machines.

Professional experience:
1962       designer, research worker in the Metallurgical Project Ostrava, department of forming
                machines for metallurgical works, forges and pressings shops.
1965       till now VŠB-TU Ostrava, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Department of Mechanics.
1974       Ph.D. in the field of Construction of Production Machines and Equipment.
1981       Associate Professor in the field of Technical Mechanics.
1992       Professor at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the VŠB-Technical University of Ostrava.
