Ondrej Kopacek is a PhD student of Vladimir Karas. In his diploma thesis, he studied motion of charged test particles in the vicinity of Kerr-Newman black hole. This work is now being continued and expanded to consider the structure of electromagnetic test fields on the Kerr metric background.

Processes of acceleration of charged particles near compact objects (that play crucial role in the formation of astrophysical jets) are commonly believed to be caused by the presence of magnetic fields. Test field solutions, whose contribution to the stress-energy tensor in Einstein field equations is neglected, are usually employed. Asymptotically uniform magnetic fields and Kerr geometry are typically considered to represent an astrophysically relevant scenario. Resulting electromagnetic fields and their impact on the motion of various test particles are being studied. Uniform motion of the black hole is also allowed in our considerations.
