Abstract:

Secondary lymphedema of upper limbs, a frequent complication after breast cancer therapy, can be successfully treated only when it is diagnosed in its early stage. Use of, otherwise well-established, lymphoscintigraphically supported staging is inhibited by a slow lymphatic dynamics of upper limbs, which allows a routine collection at most three images reflecting it. A Bayesian methodology coping with this problem is addressed within the project.
