Subject of research
The aim of this project is to obtain reliable and technically useful engineering data necessary for a rational computation and design of mechanical engineering equipment and apparatuses in which flow and heat transfer takes place. Special emphasis willbe given to the mathematical description of the hydrodynamic and thermodynamic phenomena occurring during the process and to the corresponding experimental verification of the theoretical predictions. The research objectives will be concentrated into thefollowing main topics: - to study experimentally the increase of the heat transfer in the flow of drag reducing surfactant solutions by means of installations into the exchange tubing and a promoter of turbulence at the inlet of the tube, - to study thetime of regeneration of degraded micellar networks which determinate the increase of heat transfer in heat exchangers, - to compare the heat transfer in straight and in a helical tube for two different types of micellar additives, - pressure drop and
