Due to the strict security precautions at European airports, luggage is not always reloaded from one airplane to another in time. We recommend that those of you who are coming from overseas or on indirect flight connections take all essentials for the first night/day of your stay in Prague on board with you.
Due to bad experiences with the Prague airport taxi drivers, we suggest you use the company AAA-Taxi to get to the hotel from the airport. AAA-Taxi is a reputable company and will not overcharge. Their web page is http://www.aaa-taxi.cz/en/index.php?id=7 You can either make a booking online once you know the date and time of your arrival or you can call them from the airport once you arrive at the following local phone numbers: 14014 or 222 333 222. They should be able to pick you up within 5 minutes of your call. The pick-up point is at a small parking lot about 50 meters from Exit D. The fare should be around 350 – 400 CZK (the airport taxi will charge you at least of 650 CZK).
The conference participants will receive a short-term ticket for public transport (7 days – 168 hours) together with the other conference materials when they check in at the hotel. This ticket allows a person to travel on all levels of public transport (Metro, trams, the funicular to Petrin Hill, city buses). For accompanying partners this ticket can be purchased at Metro stations, newsagents, Travel Information Centres, hotels, travel agencies, department stores, etc. The ticket costs 280 CZK.

If you stop a taxi on the street from another taxi company ALWAYS ask the driver to tell you the distance to the desired destination (in km) and to give you an approximate price quote for the trip BEFORE you enter the car. Rates may vary from company to company, but the difference should not be much in excess of the price list indicated above. If you get a price quote that is much higher than this price list DO NOT enter the car and try to stop another taxi.
