Call for papers

The ESF project TED and research center DAR would like to invite participants for the

7th International PhD Workshop, Young Generation Viewpoint
Interplay of societal and technical decision-making
25.-30.9.2006

The principle aim of the workshop is to gather young researchers in cybernetics with various backgrounds together in order to exchange knowledge and find inspiration for further research. This year, the scope of the workshop is topically biased towards recent trends in cybernetics, such as support for high-level decision-making, human-machine interface, holonic and agent control and Bayesian modelling. These technologies are intensively studied under the ESF project Towards Electronic Democracy (TED). Therefore, the workshop will have a special session on electronic democracy.

Dates & Venue:
The workshop will be held in the Czech Republic, chateau Hruba Skala (about 100km north of Prague) on 25th-30th September. Cost of local transportation, food and other local expenses is included in the fee which is 100euro. The accomodation will be payed independently, since the chateau offers two options: luxury and tourism, see this page for further details.

Who should attend:
Phd students and young researchers working in the field of cybernetics with open mind to explore wider context of their research. This year we especially encourage researchers with background in cybernetics for social science to join the event and enrich the discussion.
