A brief introduction to the recently started study of partial differential equations with a state-dependent delay will be given.
A key difference between equations with constant and state-dependent delays is discussed and the main ideas and approaches are described. The principal difficultyto extend the existing theory of ordinary differential equations with a state-dependent delay to the case of partial differential equations is discussed.
