Research interest

The aim of my research is to study the transition-metal catalyzed reactions in the gas phase by ESI-MS and tandem MS experiments. The basic idea revolves around palladium catalysis. It includes the study of the intermediates, their stability and decomposition pathways under various reaction conditions. At present the focus is basically on the study of the ArPdL2X complexes involving phosphine ligands that is the resting phase of palladium in the catalytic cycle of important palladium catalyzed reactions. The research would also focus on the study of palladium-catalyzed hydroxylation reactions and the aggregated cationic palladium complexes. Further interests focus on the study in the gas phase of the chiral cyclopentadienyl-ruthenium lewis acids containing the electron-poor BIPHOP-F ligand.
