- isolation and cultivation of freshwater cyanobacteria

- microbial food web; cyanobacteria – protozoa interactions

- genetic (molecular) characterisation and differentiations of cyanobacteria

 

Research strategy

 

Research on cyanobacterial ecology in combination of field (including mesocosms experiments with dialyses bags) and laboratory work (light / temperature / nutrient gradient experiments) as well as of classical microbiological (isolation and cultivation) and modern molecular techniques (PCR, ARDRA, DGGE, sequencing), epifluorescence microscopy and flow cytometry.
