This study concentrates on the history of Czech entrepreneurship and interprets it as a gradual process of path-dependency, where the legacy of capitalist past (prior to 1948), the institutional changes in the latter period of the communist rule (in 1976-89) and the opening-up of free access to business activities decided about the dramatically changing structure of entrepreneurs in Czechia in 2006.
