The department is responsible for the administration of electronic sources of information, adding details on the collection of the Academy of Sciences Library to the catalogue of the Virtual Polytechnic Library, and providing information services in the area of journals and electronic sources of information.

Responsible for the effective availability, promotion and use of electronic sources of information, including portals making full-text electronic sources of information available.
