Settlement structures at the turn of the Bronze and Iron Age, as a reflection of broader changes within the historical development

dr. M. Chytráček 2002-2006

The project's main aim is to publicise unpublished results of archaeological research and natural scientific analysis and to place them into a broader context. Changes in settlements in the course of the Final Bronze and Early Iron Age can be traced to a broad territory in Europe and reflect evidently deep transformations, which undoubtedly mean significant historical events. The evaluation of data will be monitored in two levels. The first, shall deal with a general look at the information available on hilltop and lowland settlements, hoards and also burial grounds on broader, Central European territory. The second, will take a more detailed look at several smaller regions where it is possible to follow the changes in settlement areas and cultures of substance. The detailed study of micro-structures will also contribute the publication of both main settlement horizons of the fortified hilltop site (Svržno) in the Final Bronze Age and Late Hallstatt Period.
