Anthropological and epidemiological characterization of Great-Moravian population in connection with the social and economic structure

The aim of this project is to get more pieces of information about the features and health state of the Great Moravian population in the 9th century. Attention will be paid on the cemetery of the settlement aglomeration Mikulčice and cemetry at Prušánky.Characteristics will be evaluated which inform about the state of living conditions and style of living of inhabitants. These characteristics are mostly linked with the load of human organism-either- of physiological or physical type,e.g. demographic indicators, sexual dimorphism, lateral bone asymetry, apperance of cribra orbitalia, Harris lines, enamel hypoplasia, denture varietes and health state, enthesopaties,...Characteristics will be evaluated with respect to the population group, social stage of buried individuals and the presumed socio-economic state of the settlement. The main output will be the manuscript of the book summarizing results of our studies of Great Moravian population.
