  • We studied entropy production in noneqilibrium processes and demonstrated that the Prigogine minimum-entropy production corresponds in a sense to the maximum-entropy principle from the Einstein fluctuation theory.

COHERENCE IN DISORDERED AND NONEQUILIBRIUM QUANTUM SYSTEMSSelected results

  • A self-consistent mean-field theory for vertex functions of disordered electrons was developed. We extended the one-electron mean-field theory (CPA) by introducing a two-particle electron-hole symmetry and an appropriate two-particle self-consistency. We were able to include the backscattering effects and derived an analytic theory of Anderson localization transition.

  • We contributed to the resolution of a long-standing controversy about the magnetic character of the equilibrium state of delta plutonium. While most of theoretical treatments predict magnetic ordering, experiment indicates a nonmagnetic ground state.  Celý text >>
