Oddělení Rozpoznávání obrazů se zaměřuje na statistické rozpoznávání s důrazem na rozpoznávání založené na vícerozměrných statistických modelech, aplikace konečných směsí, modelování náhodných polí, pravděpodobnostní neuronové sítě a statistický výběr příznaků. Oddělení aplikuje tyto teorie především v ekonomii, automobilovém průmyslu, architektuře, medicíně a klasifikaci a zpracování textů. Ve všech těchto oblastech dosáhli členové skupiny mezinárodního věhlasu představovaného vědeckými oceněními a členstvím v řídících orgánech mezinárodních vědeckých organizací.

7th International Workshop on Multiple Clasifier Systems

MCS 2007 is the seventh workshop in a well-established series of meetings providing an international forum for the discussion of issues in multiple classifier system design.

The aim of the workshop is to bring together researchers from diverse communities dealing with this topic, including neural network, pattern recognition, machine learning and statistics.

MCS 2007 will focus in particular on the application of multiple classifier systems in biometrics.

IAPR Fellow Award 2004 to Michal Haindl

President of the International Association for Pattern Recognition IAPR prof. Rangachar Kasturi presents at Cambridge to Dr. Michal Haindl the IAPR Fellow award for contributions to the theory and practice of model-based pattern recognition.

The IAPR Fellow award is conferred on persons to acknowledge their distinguished contributions to the field of pattern recognition and to IAPR activities.

Bernard Bolzano 2003 medal to Rudolf Hanka

The president of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, Prof. H. Illnerova, has presented the Bernard Bolzano 2003 Medal to Prof. Rudolf Hanka for contributions in the mathematical sciences.

The Bernard Bolzano Honorary? Medal for Merits in the Mathematical Sciences is awarded by the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic to distinguished scientists who have considerably contributed to the development of the whole field and who have fruitfully collaborated with researchers in the Czech Republic.
