Our Laboratory collaborates with the Department of Plant Science at Mahidol University in Bangkok http://www.sc.mahidol.ac.th/scpl/Welcome_en.htm The research topics include the use of flow cytometry to analyze plant genomes and the analysis of genetic diversity of banana (Musa spp.).

Eva Hřibová and Pavla Němcová visited our colleagues in Bangkok on 24-26 September 2009 (see http://www.sc.mahidol.ac.th/scpl/Seminar/index.html ). They gave seminars on their work in banana and discussed possibilities for collaboration in this area.
Jaroslav Doležel visited the Department of Plant Science on January 25-30, 2010. He participated at a workshop on plant flow cytometry (see http://www.sc.mahidol.ac.th/scpl/FCM/index.html ). He also discussed collaboration between the research teams in Bangkok and Olomouc with Dr. Sasivimon Swangpol, Assistant Dean for Public Relations and International Affairs, and academic staff of Department of Plant Science, and Dr. Jamorn Somana, M.D., Department of Biochemistry.
