Development of the molecular-based detection methods (PCR, RT-PCR, hybridization,
microhybridization) of plant viruses, phytoplasmas infecting fruit trees and small
fruits represents the main orientation of the laboratory. More detailed description can be found in the section "Research"
The department is appointed function as the Reference Phytosanitary Diagnostic Laboratory
for the diagnostic and monitoring of selected quarantine plant viruses and virus-related
organisms.
