TopicAffinity biosensors for medical diagnostics
AnnotationBiorecognition elements, e.g. antibodies or antigens, capable of binding specific compounds relevant for medical diagnostics will be immobilized on surface plasmon resonance (SPR) chips coated with anti-fouling polymer films preventing nonspecific adsorption of proteins from blood serum. Sources of serum fouling will be identified, so as biosensors for detection in body fluids can be designed. New types of polymer films currently developed in IMC AS CR will be used as anti-fouling coatings. Experimental techniques will include SPR, IR reflection spectroscopy, electron microscopy, AFM, and surface energy measurements. Gained results will be subsequently applied by collaborating photonic, biological, and medical research groups.
