TopicStudy of the micellization and gelation mechanism in thermosesitive polymer by the methods of Raman and infrared spectroscopy
AnnotationThermosensitive polymers and copolymers on the basis of peptides and ether and acrylamide structures offer applications in medicine and technology due to their remarkable physical properties. Gelation of the water solutions of triblock copolymers is a is a macroscale effect linked to micro- (micellization) and nano-scale (conformation) effects, but this link has not been firmly established so far and the mechanism of gelation remains unclear. The aim of the work is to contribute to the clarification of the processes of gelation and micellization using modern methods of Raman and infrared spectroscopy in combination with molecular modeling (quantum chemical calculations). Obtained results may be used in the design of synthetic polymers with properties suitable for biomedical applications. According to the student’s specialization the work can be oriented rather theoretically or experimentally.
