Practical results

In 2005, the Institute applied for patents on inventions relating to

  • method of preparation of doxorubicin polymer conjugates with pH-controlled release of the drug
  • method of modification of ultrahigh-molecular-weight polyethylene for manufacture of joint replacements with enhanced service life
  • membrane process for recovery and concentration of biohydrogen

Application studies for the following inventions patented earlier are still in progress

  • polymer drug conjugates in the treatment of tumors
  • polymer coating for medical devices
  • reactive N-(2-hydroxypropyl)methacrylamide polymers for polymeric drugs, gene delivery and modifications of proteins
  • a new flexible strategy for magnetic resonance imaging using polymeric contrast agents
  • functionalized polymers of alpha-aminoacids
  • a wound-cover polymer material containing radical scavengers
  • hydrogel implants for treatment of incontinence
  • a polyamide/polyisobutylene composition
  • functionalized superparamagnetic particles
  • magnetic particles coated with selected polysaccharides
  • compatibilizers for polyolefin-polystyrene blends
  • a process of recycling commingled plastic waste to tough thermoplastic materials
  • polybutadiene-based hindered amine light stabilizers
