Preliminary program of the conference.

ProAct is an acronym for ”Practical Regional Research and Innovation Policy in Action – the Efficient Tools for Regional Catching-up in New Member States”. It is a Coordination Action financed within the Regions of Knowledge (identifier: 2 FP6-2004-KNOW-REG-2) activity of the European Commission.

In ProAct 4 old and 4 new EU member states (Austria, Denmark, the Netherlands, the UK and the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia) join forces in search of best practice of regional innovation policy implementation:

  • The Benchmarking Frame and Policy Outlook publications summarise those tools and methods of regional research and innovation policy implementation that have proven to be of effect.
  • Regional practices are presented in Case Studies.
  • Local workshops help the identification of coordination possibilities between the developed and less developed EU regions' research and innovation policy.
