Advanced system for monitoring of the growth of metal nanostructures on dielectric substrate

The aim of the project is to develop methods for monitoring of preparation of metallic nanostructures on dielectric surface in deposition systems involving combination of magnetron sputtering, pulsed laser deposition and ion beam assistance. The study provides better understanding of film growth mechanism – growth modes relating to growth conditions of metals nanostructures on dielectric materials.

Pulsed laser deposition

Group of laser depositions is concentrated on the improvement of PLD (pulsed laser deposition) technology, mainly on hybrid PLD systems (combination of PLD with magnetron sputtering, RF discharges and ion beams) and to MAPLE technology (matrix assisted pulsed laser evaporation) for synthesis of organic thin films. The attention is paid to creation of nanocrystalline and nanocomposite films and multilayers, and to superlattices.  The full text >>
