Institute of Geology AS CR, v.v.i. and National Museum are pleased to invite you to the 11th Slovak–Polish–Czech Paleontological Seminar, which will be held in New building of The National Museum on the Wenceslas square in Prague (14th to 16th July, 2010).

Geologica Belgica Special Volume - speciální číslo časopisu Geologica Belgica věnované projektu IGCP 580 je online!
Speciální číslo časopisu Geologica Belgica (Volume 13, number 4: Magnetic susceptibility, correlations and Palaeozoic environments) je přístupné online. Je věnováno tématu magnetické susceptibility, jejímu korelačnímu potenciálu a vztahu k paleoprostředí a shrnuje hlavní témata řešená v rámci právě probíhajícího projektu IGCP 580 (Application of magnetic ssuceptibility on Palaeozoic sedimentary rocks). Výsledky těchto studií byly prezentovány na prvním setkání IGCP 580, které proběhlo 2.- 6. 12. 2009 v Liège v Belgii.

Institute of Geology AS CR, v. v. i. is a medium-sized research center which main purpose is to gain, interpret and integrate the knowledge of the Earth System and its geologic and biologic past, without which it would not be possible to understand the recent environment. The Earth system understood as a result of interaction of endogenous and exogenous geological processes, development of biota and anthropogenic effects. Co-evolution of the Earth system means close connection and constant mutual influence of biotic and abiotic processes resulting in changes of atmosphere composition, climatic changes and weathering rates, relief development, sedimentary basin development and genesis of some types of natural resource bearings.
