Two CERGE-EI faculty members appointed to the National Economic Council,
CERGE-EI is proud to announce that Lubomir Lizal and Daniel Munich were appointed members of the Czech government's reinstated National Economic Council ("NERV" in the Czech acronym). NERV is an apolitical advisory and consultative body to the government composed of 15 respected economists who help to find the most appropriate means of reform and economic measures. It should deal with six areas in individual project teams. Detailed information about NERV can be found here (in Czech only).

CERGE-EI involved with key activities of the EC Directorate-General for Employment, CERGE-EI, together with GHK, form the Core team coordinating European Employment Observatory (EEO) which contributes to developing the European Employment Strategy (EES) by providing information, comparative research, and evaluation on employment policies and labour market trends in the countries in the EU and EU candidate countries.
Additionally, at the beginning of 2009, CERGE-EI and GHK created a consortium assisting the European Commission in carrying out the Mutual Learning Programme. The main objectives of this programme have been to encourage and facilitate Member States to learn from each others' experiences and to enhance the transferability of best practices of labour market policies in priority areas of the Lisbon Strategy for Growth and Jobs.
