Institute of Mathematics, Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, Prague announces available Research Fellow position

The position is suitable for a mathematician or another specialist with a strong background in mathematics. This is a full-time fixed term contract appointment, on the internal salary scale at a level commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Starting date: 01 Oct 2010 or upon agreement

Requirements: PhD degree in mathematics or in a related discipline, motivation for research, cooperation potential, language skills; some previous experience is welcome.

The application should contain:

1. CV.
2. Brief description of applicant's research interests and concepts of cooperation inside and outside the institute.
3. Three recommendation letters - at most one from the Institute of Mathematics and at most one from the applicant's current affiliation. The referees should send their recommendations directly to the above E-mail address.
4. In case that the applicant has not obtained his/her PhD before the submission day, he/she has to produce evidence that the thesis is submitted and a date of the defense is settled.
5. Other relevant information (invitations to conferences, fellowships, impact of the applicant's results etc.).
