Problems Related to Solving Navier-Stokes Equations
June 30, 2009

Flow of water and other liquids is described by the system of equations found by C.L. Navier and G. G. Stokes in the first half of the 19-th century. Lots of effort was invested into solving the system theoretically as well as numerically. However, several basic questions regarding the system still remain open.

In the lecture we will explain the problems with solving the equations and we will overview several recent theoretical results.
