The main aim of the project is to systematically introduce the most recent knowledge of the French social science research into the curricula of Universities in cooperation with the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, Slovak Academy of Sciences, Charles University in Prague, Masaryk University in Brno, Palacký University in Olomouc, Komenský University in Bratislava and Universities in Prešov and Košice jointly with French professors of the field of the social sciences. Within the framework of this project, lectures were delivered by French philosophers and other social science researchers at University and Academy institutes in the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic during the present academic year . The climax of the year-long collaboration will be a one-week-summer workshop ("Summer University") to be held in Olomouc, 3 - 9 July, 2006.

The project is part of a longterm plan in which the institutions referred to above have been participating since 1991 when the Institute of Philosophy of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic arranged the first Summer University in the city of Bechyně jointly with the AJH, Paris. During the academic year, lectures of French lectors are read in various institutions of higher learning in the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic which are incorporated into the teaching programmes of some Faculties. Translations of works related to pedagogy are published. Activities of all participating partners contribute to improve the quality of teaching at university-level institutions.
