Strontium hafnate doped by lead, SrHfO3:Pb, was proposed and for various Pb concentration tested. In comparison with the single crystalline bismuth germanate, Bi4Ge3O12, used as scintillation standard, up to 2.4 times higher scintillation effectiveness has been reached. Owing to this high effectiveness and also due to its low own radioactivity, the material is suitable for measurement of low level radiation in science, in medicine and in industry.
