Abstract:
We studied the downregulation of Gamma-tubulin in Arabidopsis thaliana by inducible RNAi technique. The RNAi depletion of Gamma-tubulin led to serious distortions of development in A. thaliana seedlings. We observed changes both on the whole plant level and on the microscopical level. The distribution of microtubules was randomized as we expected and the longitudinal growth was impaired. We also observed the alternation of cytokinesis although the cells did not display mitotic changes. This is the field of activity we would like to furhter elucidate
